1. Purpose
This policy provides guidelines for the recruitment, engagement, support, and recognition of volunteers at Mission Minded Mission Focused. Volunteers are essential to fulfilling our mission, and we are committed to providing a supportive and rewarding experience.
2. Definition of a Volunteer
A volunteer is anyone who, without compensation or expectation of compensation beyond reimbursement, performs a task at the direction of and on behalf of Mission Minded Mission Focused.
3. Volunteer Recruitment and Selection
Volunteers are recruited based on the needs of the organization and without discrimination. All prospective volunteers must complete a Volunteer Application and, where required, an interview and background check.
4. Orientation and Training
All volunteers will receive an orientation to the organization and their specific roles. Ongoing training may be provided as needed to ensure effective service and personal growth.
5. Roles and Responsibilities
Volunteers are expected to:
Adhere to the organization’s policies and procedures.
Perform duties as agreed upon in their role description.
Maintain confidentiality of any sensitive information.
6. Supervision and Support
Volunteers will be assigned a supervisor or point of contact.
Regular check-ins will occur to ensure mutual satisfaction and address any concerns.
7. Conduct and Behavior
Volunteers must conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner. Discrimination, harassment, or unsafe behavior will not be tolerated and may result in termination of the volunteer relationship.
8. Health and Safety
Volunteers must follow all safety protocols. Any accidents or injuries must be reported immediately to the team leader at the time of the event.
9. Time Commitment and Attendance
Volunteers are asked to commit to a schedule as agreed upon. If unable to attend a scheduled shift, volunteers should notify the team as soon as possible.
10. Termination
Either the volunteer or the organization may end the volunteer relationship at any time. Dismissal may occur in cases of misconduct or repeated failure to meet expectations.
11. Confidentiality and Media Consent
Volunteers may be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement and/or media release form.
